About the Black Trans Bike Experience

Join your fellow Black Trans & GNC riders on the trip of a lifetime.

Starting in Philadelphia, PA, this Bike Experience will wind its way through the East Coast countryside, covering 160 miles in five days. Far beyond your average bike tour, this Experience will ensure riders sharpen their irreplaceable connection to body, mind, and spirit.

The BTBExperience will give its Black Trans Riders daily time for meditation, yoga, and somatic practice, in a loving offering to make the ride as healing as it is rigorous. Riders will be in deep study of our ancestors’ freedom dreams while also breaking bread with Black Trans community and organizers along the route. The Experience will conclude at the September 28 Trans March on DC, a first of its kind historic event where riders will ensure that Black Trans Voices are organized and heard.

GIFTS OF THE BTBE:

Body

  • Prepare diligently to push your body over 160mi in five days

  • Receive somatic and physical training support from multiple trans-affirming instructors

  • Increased Meditation & Mindfulness practice throughout preparation and 5-day tour

Mind

  • Organizing - Along the way and in DC, learn organizing tactics and build with organizations & leaders fighting for Black Trans folks throughout the East Coast.

  • Leadership Development - It is no accident our community is cast aside and rarely developed as the leaders we naturally are. This project will call upon participants ability to fundraise, organize their community, ask for help, and follow through.

Spirit (Culture)

  • We are mobilizing a community of Black Trans Folks across the gender spectrum & outside a commitment to the binary

  • We will manifest community spaces that unapologetically bring people together for the mission of bringing more of our Black Trans freedom dreams to life.
